Our vibrant world of colours…
Colours form an important element of our everyday lives. We perceive colours according to our moods. The bright hues of the yellow sun uplifts our mood. The shades of reds and orange bring a sense of excitement and energy. The blue of the sky reflected in the water bodies spell serenity and calm. Greens bring vitality and freshness. Black stands for stature, power and strength. Purple for elegance and the list is endless. Colours are commonly used to describe the state of mind or situations for eg. Monday blues, brown as a berry, grey matter, red carpet, golden opportunity, etc.
Is it even coincidental that colours define our emotions or state of mind? Maybe not. Nutritionists recommend consuming 5 servings of colourful fruits and vegetables every day. According to the Vedas, each day has a designated colour, for eg. Sunday is orange, white for Monday, red for Tuesday, and so on. Colours also form an integral part of healing. The seven important chakras in our body that deal with different aspects are also represented by different colours. And meditating on the colour of that particular chakra can bring phenomenal healing and clarity.

Have you ever noticed how a tiny dormant seed germinates and grows into a powerful abundant tree? The seed of life is nurtured by the water and nutrients from the soil, ensuring growth and stability. The complex root system becomes robust by pushing its way towards gravity, into the dark ebbs of Mother Earth. This stable and strong root network ensures how secure the tree would be, above the surface.
The shoot grows upwards, against the gravitational force, following the energy of the Sun. This also means that external environmental forces like strong winds, rain, harsh summers, etc can be a deterrent in the developmental process and growth.
Both these processes are directly proportional to the growth, strength and character of any tree.
Similarly, when individuals start to follow their life’s path, they are nudged to discover their inner state or life purpose by two very different processes that occur, simultaneously. The external environment and experiences impact the growth from the outside which could include societal expectations, formal education or even interpersonal development and relationships. However, when we dive deeper into the abyss of soul searching, that the true meaning of spirituality dawns upon us.
Spirituality is a subjective process. It is an individual’s self carved out path that encompasses a self-taught experience. No comparisons can be drawn to explain the extent of self awareness and self discovery as each individual experiences varying degrees of awareness.
How deep down into the darkness can you get, only you can decide. The choice is always ours. Whether it’s safe to stay afloat or then follow your instincts and intuition to embrace your bespoke soul path, which may be gruelling and not so easy. Are you ready to take this plunge in order to evolve? Ask yourself.
