Self-empowerment

(Atma-Bodha)

Sandhyaashree has been a life coach for over two decades now. She has come to realise that a particular situation can affect different people in different ways. However, they feel the same emotion in varying degrees. So, after much deliberation she came to the conclusion that teaching people the various tools can and thereby equip and empower them to manage their lives better. ‘Building emotional strength’ is one of the mottos and offerings of Catharsis. The workshops we conduct have this core objective at heart.

The workshops conducted under the banner of Catharsis are Chakra balancing, Bach flower remedies, Initiations to Tarot, Therapeutic Tai-Chi and Reiki.

Chakra Balancing: While there is plenty of literature available on the internet, how to use that information and apply it in your life can be learnt only in a class.

For the uninitiated, there are 7 main chakras. Each relates to some aspect of our life. Balancing the chakras builds a reserve of strength. This helps face situations efficiently and sail through them with ease. Even though we live in the most comfortable times today, most of us feel stressed, anxious or simply exhausted. It is because we have completely tilted the balance of our connective faculties from within to without. It has become more essential than ever before to be equipped with techniques which help restore this balance. Chakra Balancing is one such technique which has multiple benefits for physical, mental and spiritual well-being. It is simple to follow and takes only a few minutes to practise.

The flow of the 5 online classes will be as follows:

CLASS 1 – Introduction and understanding the functions of the Root Chakra.

CLASS 2 – Understanding the functions of the Sacral Plexus and Solar Plexus
Chakra.

CLASS 3 – Understanding the functions of the Heart & Throat Chakra.

CLASS 4 – Understanding the functions of the Third Eye and Crown Chakra.

CLASS 5 – Learning about Aura, Mastering the technique of balancing chakras and applying them to your everyday life.

There is no wrong flower remedy. Flower remedies work on the emotional wellbeing of an individual. So, even if another essence is consumed, it would give more clarity about the choice of the right flower essence that needs to be consumed

I believe, through my experience of 25 years, that it would be advisable to address our own individual emotions and not expect generic solutions to resolve those issues. For eg. in any given situation two individuals react to the same situation in different ways. Similarly, one ready combination will have different experiences for different individuals. Hence, it would be right to choose flower remedies according to your needs and requirements.

Reiki is an ancient Japanese technique of alternative healing.

It involves channelling energy by using the palms to draw the universal force or energy. In this technique the Reiki practitioner does not use their personal energy to heal others. In fact they use Reiki symbols for healing an individual. Reiki helps an individual to balance and restore their physical and mental wellbeing.

In this special program, Sandhyaashree initiates the seeker into Reiki. The most important takeaway from this program is that Sandhyaashree shares her rich experience of how Reiki could be effectively practised in our daily lives.

Always remember, once you have been initiated into Reiki you are a medium or channel to source pure life energy from the Universe. This technique does not have the capability to harm anyone.

Not really but there are healing symbols that are taught in a Reiki workshop and there is also an attunement process. There are no symbols in Chakra Balancing. Chakra balancing is a stepping stone to practise Reiki.

No harm or negativity can be done by practising Reiki because this knowledge comes from a pure source.

It would be advisable not to share the symbols with others because individuals who are attuned at Level 2 can only use the symbols.

Tarot Reading:

The Tarot is a deck of 78 cards and each one has images and symbols with significant meanings. The deck comprises Major Arcanas and Minor Arcanas.

During a reading, these cards carry spiritual messages that are meant exclusively for the querent. Hence, the Tarot is a great tool to understand limitations that one has which would be a challenge to speak about.

Learn to read and decipher the language of symbols through the divine cards. And empower yourself to deal with even everyday problems in a creative and intuitive way.

No, practice is the key. Interpretations of the cards could take time to comprehend. It could take a minimum of at least 6 months to help one, to intuitively hone their skills.

Personally,I feel that one should ideally not depend on these predictions explicitly. Tarot is a navigational tool and can also be used as a pointer for many beginnings. A negative message could mean caution and should not discourage an individual from seeking help from the cards.

Tarot is a navigational tool and can also be used as a pointer for many beginnings. A negative message could mean caution and should not discourage an individual from seeking help from the cards.

The best practice for one to follow would be to read the cards once in 3 months.

It would be ideal for one to store their deck in a designated place and read the cards from the same location only. Tarot is a form of pure energy and must be respected in order to be able to get accurate outcomes. If there is a requirement to carry them to another location, it would be necessary to re-energize them before using them again.

You can meditate as often as you can. Meditation is a process of finding peace from within. The more an individual practices meditation, it will bring benefits.

Beginners need to concentrate while meditating, so it would be advisable to keep eyes closed. However, advance sadhanas are done with eyes open and this needs extensive practice and time.

Meditation helps individuals to become more aware and it would also mean that there would be a continuous stream of thoughts while meditating. This is a natural process and can be fine tuned with time.

Life is a personal process and it also depends on an individual’s life purpose. Personally, I feel that meditation helps individuals to declutter and to focus on important issues that can help them lead a balanced life.

Therapeutic Tai Chi

Tai Chi originated in ancient China. There are accounts of where and how it originated, but much of the history of the ancients often is not exact. Tai Chi originates from ancient traditional medicine and martial arts techniques and Qigong. Although it was initially a martial art form, today it is practised the world over mainly as a way to maintain physical well-being.

Chi means life energy force. So, Tai Chi aims at a smooth and powerful flow of life-force energy through our body. Basically, it comprises gentle movements that create a symphony between mind and body. It can effectively do so because it works on 3 aspects. Movements are gentle and controlled. This slows down the heart rate and alleviates anxiety and stress. There is a focus on maintaining the correct posture. The form is very important. This aids the flow of chi in a manner that helps a person be physically and mentally healthy. Movements are slow and graceful. So the body is relaxed but not loose. This brings attention to the body as you can feel every stretch and movement.

Some learn it as a form of martial art, some as a physical movement, some as a form of balancing yin and yang. What I have found is that it clears energy blocks. It can be practised anywhere, open or closed space. You need no equipment or preparation.
