ABUNDANCE

Abundance vs Contentment

There has always been this stiff debate about abundance and contentment. Does having a lot of money, or our social status or even our qualifications decide this? Where does this quest begin and end? How much is enough? This is a million dollar question.

This conversation is endless because someone who lives in a small apartment would definitely dream of owning a big mansion. Or a jobless person would be extremely happy to have finally got a well paying job. Or when a student feels ecstatic when he bags a seat in an esteemed University of his choice. Or for that matter, a hungry person would experience bliss if he were served a plateful of food. Hence, the idea of having enough is subjective and would be difficult to define.

Think of this for a moment. Are you breathing? This means you are alive. Are you happy that you are able to move and do physical activities? This is proof that you are healthy. If you are able to understand and follow what I’m saying, then that implies that you have the unique ability to think and understand. If you do agree with my ideas or thoughts, then you are capable of forming your own views and opinions which is a byproduct of your learnings and education. This is also a gift. A gift of your hardwork and perseverance that you have put, to achieve results.

These are very basic examples of what we need to be grateful for. Our body, our reflexes, our ability to think and react or respond, making choices. These are all gifts that we possess as humans. These gifts are unique and very subjective. Each one of us has a personal gift granted to us by the Divine. To top it all, we live on a beautiful planet with elements conducive to our living and growth. Can we not be content with these bespoke abilities and feel abundant?

Abundance – Chapter 2 : April 1 2024

The basic definition of abundance for many is limited to acquiring wealth and materialistic growth. This could be a very skewed view of what abundance can ideally mean. Have you ever considered how important our physical bodies are to manifest the ‘abundance’ that we desire?

Our brain, heart, liver, kidneys, gallbladder, etc are vital organs that aid in various physiological processes and functions to keep us healthy and fit. And are we even paying attention to our five senses? Our eyes, nose, ears, skin and tongue are also very important. Our eyes are the window to the world. It is said that our ears are as unique as DNA or a fingerprint. It is said that the nose speaks louder than words! The tongue is a sensory organ responsible for tasting. The healthier the skin, the better the lifestyle. The five senses define our existence, our views of ourselves and most importantly how we perceive the outside environment.

Despite that, are we really thankful for what we possess?
The loss of function of even one can cause catastrophic damage to the quality of life and also social existence. The knowledge of Chakra balancing helps an individual to understand how the benefits of the chakras can change our lives. Abundance  : May 1 2024

Louise L. Hay often said, ‘You have the power to heal your life, and you need to know that.’

The power of the mind is limitless. However, what you feed your mind is very important because that changes the composition of the hormones responsible for your body’s wellbeing.

In recent times, many organisations consider a positive attitude to be an important soft skill for their employees to learn as it helps to unlock a positive mindset and environment promoting success and growth.

It cannot be ignored that in order to think positively we need to ignore the unpleasant. However, the attitude towards addressing negative situations can be different when the mindset is positive and productive. It is proven that individuals whose outlook is positively influenced live longer, have lower levels of pain and anxiety and have better coping mechanisms from illnesses and other hardships.

We have the potential to change our thinking and experiences by improving our ability to cope and adapt by altering our perceptions.

The fact of the matter is that humans are on the apex of the food chain and our ability to think makes us stronger and smarter than the other species.

We have evolved thought processes that can help change our thinking and behaviour. We have the ability to change situations by changing our thoughts and channelling them to our benefit.

‘We think so often that we are helpless, but we’re not. We always have the power of our minds… Claim and consciously use your power’, adds Louise Hay. Do you agree that we are abundantly blessed with the most powerful faculty- our mind?
